HSP's signature heat shield box is designed to eliminate unwanted hot air from entering the cold air intake, thereby maintaining cooler, denser air for optimal engine performance. It’s important to note that every 1-degree increase in intake air temperature can result in a 3hp loss, which this kit helps to prevent.

The kit also includes HSP's high-flow turbo mouthpiece. This component enables you to reroute the factory PCV system and remove the factory resonator box, effectively preventing engine oil from gumming up the turbo and intake system. The 3-inch mandrel-bent hot side and cold side tubes, combined with HSP's max-flow Y-bridge and turbo mouthpiece, ensure that the engine receives maximum airflow.

The factory hot side intercooler tube on your 2011-2016 Duramax is notorious for failure. The original two-piece design has crimped-on boots that tend to fail under heat and pressure.
