The original switch had 4 prongs and 4 positions (Off, Low, Med. High). This aftermarket replacement has 4 prongs and 5 positions (Off, Low, Med, High, Off). So, this switch will allow you to go past the High setting, but will just turn off, it will not do any damage and there is nothing wrong with your vehicle or the switch.
The switch comes with a knob (slightly different design from the original) that will fit the front blower position, but not the rear blower (it is too short). If you reuse the original knob, it can be a tight fit and there may be some difficulty pressing the knob into the switch.
