When replacing your flywheel (manual transmission) or flexplate (automatic transmission), it is highly recommended that the five bolts securing it to the crankshaft are replaced. This kit includes five bolts and a small tube of thread locker.

This internal-hex bolt and locking compound kit is a direct replacement for all flywheels and flexplates originally fitted with internal-hex bolts (N-902-268-01). It also replaces the external bolt and lock plate system originally used on 1976 and later aircooled engines. If you have this other system, please discard the metal locking plate, use the locking compound and torque the bolts to 81 ft-lbs (110Nm).
