Ford 8.8 Rear Axle Simple Swap — 28 Spline

Basic swap kit with plates, perches, U-bolts, and shock brackets

This kit supplies the essentials to mount a 28-spline Ford 8.8 rear axle under a leaf-spring rig. You get 3/8" thick A50 steel U-bolt plates with three spring-pin locations, matched 8.8 perches, four 5/8" U-bolts with hardware, and a pair of shock brackets. The components are sized to work together so you can set pinion angle, center-pin position, and shock mounts without piecing parts from multiple sources.

Fitment is for 2.5" leaf springs with perches profiled for a 2.75" axle tube and U-bolts measuring 10" × 5/8" × 2-3/4". Many 28-spline 8.8 axles at this width came in Ford Ranger applications; verify your axle width, tube diameter, and spring spacing before welding. If your pack height or plate stack is taller, consider longer U-bolts to maintain full thread engagement and re-torque after shakedown.
