The restrictive design and bends of the factory piece hinder airflow, resulting in poor performance. Additionally, the stock turbo inlet horn is quite plain in appearance, lacking any aesthetic appeal and making it difficult to clean up.

The reason behind this larger size is that a larger turbo inlet horn allows for increased airflow. One of the biggest complaints with the LB7 trucks is that the stock turbo feels constricted. The factory IHI turbo needs to be able to draw in as much air as possible under any circumstances. With the simple addition of the HSP Stock Turbo Inlet Horn, we can jam-pack that stock turbo with so much more air that it can be pushed much further. Many customers have reported power gains without making any other modifications. When combined with the HSP Diesel Cold Air Intake, we noticed a slight reduction in exhaust gas temperatures.

As for compatibility, the HSP Stock Turbo Inlet Horn is designed specifically for LB7 trucks with VIN Code 1. To determine the VIN code, simply look at the 8th character of the VIN number. The 10th character indicates the year of the truck.
