This seal fits the window frame on the left (drivers) side middle side window of all Vanagons (1980-1991) and the right / slider door window of early Vanagons (1980-1984) with the early model sliding door that utilizes the longer, 7.25" handle. It does not include the groove for chrome molding. Professional installation highly recommended.
Available in genuine OEM Germany, or aftermarket USA. We typically recommend German seals whenever they are available, but their availability is spotty. The USA-made seals are excellent quality, and are a very good alternative when we are out of the German variety. However, they are a little more difficult to install due to their slightly larger profile.
Fit note: This seal is for Vanagons that have a longer sliding door handle. That handle measures 7.25" from the center of the key hole to the end of the handle.
Install Tip: These window seals are much easier to install when they are 80 degrees or warmer. Install on glass, install your rope—and let it sit in the sun or warm it up with a heat gun for best results.
